Ode to an Intern

February 21st, 2007 by Lori Houlihan

P1140781 Have we mentioned lately how much we LOVE our intern, Faron?

She’s always showing her pretty smile, telling us stories of high-school excitement including all the juicy details of her lively escapades.  Self starter=Faron.  We never have to worry about Faron standing around (but when she does she looks mighty fine).  Come in and see what we’re talkin’ ’bout.  Let her help you come up with an updated look for Spring!

A Happy Valentines Day from the Isle

February 14th, 2007 by Lori Houlihan

Posies_1  We had a great day today even though it was cold and yuck and there weren’t too many folks
coming by th
e store. I mean…how can you not have a great day when you
have beautiful things like these flowers all around the store. Big Loo
made little bouquets…Posies she calls ‘em…we gave the bouquets to
all the Cupids who got their Valentine goodies from our gift shrine.
Valentines…Isle of You…they go together like ramma lamma lamma etc.
etc. If you didn’t make it by THIS year…no worries. There’s always next year. However…you can also keep celebrating the LOVE by stopping by this wee
Abathk to see the Valentines on display. Maxwell Elementary Students made them. They are fantastic! We just love’em. Of course, if Valentines aint your thing, you may want to come by for the SUPER BARGAINS or to check out the Swim suits cause that’ll help you remember on these nasty freezing days that Spring is now just 5 WEEKS AWAY!!!!

No excuses!!!

February 3rd, 2007 by Lori Houlihan

We have no excuses…really we don’t. We may think we do, but nope…no good reasons that we haven’t been keeping up with this here blog. The post holiday time is always very weird. Anyone who’s in retail knows what I mean. Starting in late October the momentum gets going. The action really peaks Thanksgiving weekend, falls back a bit then rolls toward December 25 with ever increasing intensity. Along comes January and the crazy action just stops. Sure there’s all kinds of busy work to be done. Finishing up one year and starting another….transition stuff. It’s hard to adjust to the slower pace, but just about the time you’ve adjusted then the excitement begins again. The excitement is building at Isle of You, so this seemed the perfect time to do some blogging.
I’ve been hanging out in the blogosphere alot lately anyway. I can get lost for hours on flickr and then there’s my list of favorite blogs that I have to check out daily. My travels into the sphere have taught me a lot. Ya know, there are are some pretty impressive bloggers right here round these parts.
